Phosban-L Liquid
Phosban-L is concentrated Lathanum solution for use in aquariums to control dissolved phosphate. Phosban-L has an extremely high capacity to bind large quantities of phosphate quickly, making it an excellent choice for removing phosphate from aquarium water when phosphate level is unusually high. It is more economical to use than granular media. Phosban-L is safe to use in freshwater and saltwater aquariums and ponds. With Phosban-L, large fish populations can be maintained without high PO4 accumulation. In reef aquariums Phosban-L is a practical way to help maintain the low phosphate levels needed to promote rapid growth of corals. Use Phosban-L when dissolved phosphate level is above 0.2 mg/L and slowly dose enough to bring the level down to about 0.1 mg/L over a period of days. Lanthanum chloride is very effective at lowering dissolved phosphate when the concentration is above 0.1 mg/L. When the phosphate concentration is below 0.1 mg/L it is less effective, and that may result in residual lanthanum chloride remaining in the aquarium water. At 0.1 mg/L, use Phosban GFO to absorb phosphate and maintain levels below 0.03ppm.
